The Woman In The Window (1944) Edward G. Robinson

The Poster for this film lists the female lead's name
incorrectly as Joan "Rennett", instead of Joan "Bennett".

Professor Wanley and his friends become obsessed with the portrait of a woman in the window next to the men's club. Following a chance meeting with a beautiful young woman the professor becomes involved in murder and blackmail.

Edward G. Robinson is one of my favorite actors, incredibly he was never nominated for an Academy Award. He was awarded an Honorary Oscar two months after his death. For The Woman In The Window, Robinson deserves an Oscar. Great cinematography and the typical dark mood rendered by the master director Fritz Lang, make this a must see for film noir fans. The beautiful  Joan Bennett as Alice gives a very good performance. The supporting cast features strong performances from Edmund Breon, Dan Duryea and Raymond Massey. The Woman In The Window, should not to be missed by the classic movie fan.★★★★
