A Double Life (1947) Ronald Colman

Anthony John is an actor whose life is strongly influenced by the characters he plays. When he's playing comedy, he's the most enjoyable person in the world, but when he's playing drama, he becomes a psychotic killer.

Despite a great performance by Ronald Colman, "A Double Life" is a boring movie. The film has been given a lot of good reviews, but the script is dull, melodramatic, and contrived. Good cinematography, music score and a great cast, but I found it too slow and unappealing right from the start. "A Double Life" is vastly overrated. If you're a die hard Ronald Colman fan or love Shakespeare you may get into it. ★★
