I watched this film because Alice White was in it, too bad she gets bumped off. The mystery is compelling enough to keep your interest. Many of these early talking films were like watching a stage play, but it's a nice little story worth watching. This film was remade into The Mystery of Mr. Wong, 1939, starring Boris Karloff.★★★
