Captain Pirate (1952) Louis Hayward

Captain Pirate is a love story about Captain Blood and Isabella who are about to be married. Their plans are upset when Blood is accused raiding and burning Cartagena. Captain Blood must once again become a pirate to prove his innocence. The film has a black and white segment, used as a flashback by Isabella to explain how Peter Blood became a slave and then Captain Blood. The footage is from Fortunes of Captain Blood (1950). While the plot has a few holes in it Louis Hayward made a convincing ex-pirate, and his fiancé Patricia Medina made the whole thing a lot more fun to watch. Not the best pirate movie but entertaining. ★★★
