Is it the end of mankind? A once in a lifetime meteorite shower winds up blinding most people on Earth, and depositing spores which grow into man eating plants. The Day Of The Triffids is one of the most underrated sci-fi films of all time. Right from the start with the introduction talking about plants, the film gets your interest, and the titles over the meteorite shower was clever. The movie has a good cast and plenty of action, look for Howard Keel making a flame thrower to cook Triffids into crispy critters. The Triffids are menacing and repulsive and better than other monsters from that time period. If you like a movie where most people are blind, running amok and looting with man-eating plants that chase them, you gotta dig this flick! ★★★
