Dangerous Charter (1962) Sally Fraser

Director: Robert Gottschalk

Stars: Chris Warfield, Sally Fraser, Dick Foote
This is a film about three lucky fisherman granted salvage rights to the killer yacht Medusa. They have only one problem, how to stay alive. Dangerous Charter is an entertaining film with solid acting and fine direction by Robert Gottschalk who wrote the original story. Gottschalk was a two time Academy Award winner, he was president of Panavision, Inc., and was the inventor of the Panavision photographic process, he conceived of this film as a showcase for that process. One of the highlights of this movie is the yacht Medusa. The yachts real name is Portola, was once owned by Errol Flynn and was featured in the hit film "Some Like It Hot". Portola is a 25 meter luxury yacht built in 1928, and still in action.
Chris Warfield worked in film and television from the 1950's through the 1990's. Chris died in 1996 at the age of 69. Sally Fraser is both beautiful and captivating as the only girl on the yacht. Sally is a minor cult classic star, from films like "It Conquered the World", "War of the Colossal Beast", and "Giant From the Unknown". Sally retired from show business in the 1960's to raise a family and now lives on a ranch in Idaho.  ★★★
