Madonna of the Desert is an ivory statue embedded with jewels and natural the gangsters are out to steal it. Nick (Sheldon Leonard) enlists his girl Monica (Lynne Roberts) to heist the Madonna for him, but there is more to this little statue than meets the eye. Madonna of the Desert is an entertaining movie with one of Hollywood's most recognizable screen tough guys Sheldon Leonard. The attractive Lynne Roberts plays the tough broad that's out to steal the Madonna. Also in the cast is Don Castle the handsome "B" actor who had a slight resemblance to Clark Gable. Castle died from a drug overdose at the age of 47. If you like film noir you must see Madonna of the Desert. ★★★
