Witchfinder General 1968 Vincent Price

Director: Michael Reeves

Stars: Vincent Price, Ian Ogilvy, Rupert Davies
Witches have a long history of being feared by the people. Under torture, accused witches would confess to almost anything, who wouldn't, especially if you have Vincent Price extracting the confession. In one of his best horror roles Price plays the perfect witch finder, the real fun starts when he tortures the poor victim, of course he may be lenient if you have sex with him. Director Michael Reeves presents us with a stylish, atmospheric horror thriller about a witch hunter torturing his way to wealth and fame. Price  regarded his performance in this film as the finest of his horror movie career. The movie is based on a real person, Matthew Hopkins, who executed more than 300 people, mainly women, during his two or three years of  witch hunting, which make the movie even more believable. If you like horror and Vincent Price Witchfinder General, AKA Conqueror Worm, is a must see. ★★★★★
